Haaland Achieves a Milestone as Chelsea’s Resurgence Takes a Blow

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland clinched another Premier League goal-scoring record.

Despite his achievement, City couldn’t extend their remarkable winning streak or maintain their top position, as they settled for a 1-1 home draw against Liverpool on Saturday.

Haaland propelled City into the lead 27 minutes into the game, capitalizing on a weak clearance from Liverpool keeper Alisson.

This goal marked his 50th in just 48 games, surpassing the previous record set by Andy Cole.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold thwarted City’s quest for a 24th consecutive home win in all competitions by delivering an 80th-minute equalizer with his right foot.

The result left City on 29 points from 13 games just one point ahead of Liverpool.

Later, Arsenal secured a late 1-0 victory at Brentford, courtesy of Kai Havertz’s header.

The win propelled Arsenal to the top of the table with 30 points, surpassing both Liverpool and City.

Chelsea’s brief resurgence took a severe blow with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United.

Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion returned to their winning ways with a 3-2 victory at Nottingham Forest despite finishing the game with 10 men.

On the other hand, Luton Town earned their first home win since returning to the top flight as they beat Crystal Palace 2-1 to move four points clear of the bottom three.
