John ‘Bobby’ Ogolla, a former football player is warning Gor Mahia to watch out for AFC Leopards when they face off in the Mashemeji derby at Kasarani Stadium this Saturday.
Gor Mahia has had a good start in the 2023-24 season, winning two matches and drawing three out of the first five games.
On the other hand, Ingwe has struggled in their first five games, with four draws and one loss.
As they prepare for the 97th derby, the 64-year-old Ogolla, who played for Gor Mahia alongside Austin Oduor until he retired in 1989, thinks that even though Ingwe is not doing well lately, Gor Mahia should be prepared for a tough opponent.
“AFC Leopards will come into the game limping, you know they have not won any match this season and therefore it makes them very dangerous against Gor Mahia, it makes the game very tricky for Gor Mahia,” Ogolla told People Sports In an interview
“Gor Mahia must be very careful, they should not underrate them, thinking they have already won. I am sure they will fight to win because it is against Gor Mahia and they are in need of their first win.”he added.

In their most recent encounter, Ingwe secured their first victory against their longtime rivals in seven years, winning 2-1.
Ogolla, who has also been a coach for Gor Mahia, believes that Kogalo should do whatever they can to make up for the painful loss and give their fans something to cheer about.
The last game Gor played against AFC they lost 2-1. “I remember very well, we were there it was very painful for AFC to beat Gor after a very long time,” said Ogolla.
Gor Mahia drew 1-1 with KCB in their last match and Ingwe also had a 1-1 draw against newly-promoted Shabana.
