9 Kenyans Nominated in The Africa Women’s Awards

The past few weeks have marked Award season in Kenya and Africa at large. Celebrating and honoring African and Kenyan men and women in different career spaces. Others have had a winning streak while others are celebrating their first-ever nominations.


Just this weekend, Trace held a three-day festival including the Trace Awards in which two Kenyans represented the country in the nominations. Nadia Mukami who was nominated for Best Female Artist and Janet Otieno was nominated for Best Gospel Artist.


The list of nominees to the Africa Women’s Awards 2023 is out and we have 9 Kenyan women representing the country. In different categories while others have more than two nominations for various categories.

Kate Actress has shared her excitement to be nominated on her social media pages. Kate has been nominated for the Actress of the Year award amongst other celebrated and prominent actresses like Ini Edo and Mercy Johnson from Nigeria.

“Wow, okay. What a list. My people, do I call my tailor? Is it coming home? Do your thing. The nomination is such an honor.”


Other Kenyan women who have been nominated include:

Breakout Actress of the Year – Diana Luvanda.

Content Creator of the Year – Jacky Vike.

Young Creative of the Year – Joy Kendi, Chebet Ronoh, and Brandy Maina.

On Air Personality of the Year – Kwambox and Azeezah Hashim.

Media personality – Joy Wayodi and Kwambox.

This year’s theme of the Africa Women Awards is ‘Year of the Woman’. This is the fourth edition of the prestigious awards. The awards aim to celebrate the contributions of African women who are creating a remarkable difference across the continent.
