Annah Awujo, a young woman from Bukedi North, Uganda, was brutally killed by her husband, Arorwa Otube, less than six months after their wedding.
The incident unfolded shortly after Annah returned home from a relative’s burial.
According to reports from the Daily Monitor, a heated argument escalated between the couple upon Annah’s return from the funeral.

The disagreement spiraled out of control, ultimately culminating in her untimely death at the hands of her spouse.
Arorwa Otube, the accused, fled the scene after the gruesome act.
Immaculate Alaso, the police spokesperson in Bukedi North, revealed that domestic violence had been a continuous issue within the marriage.
“Domestic violence dominated throughout the period the two were together until when Arorwa Otube decided to allegedly murder Awujo Annah. The cause of the murder is believed to be an allegation of extra-marital affair by the deceased.”

The motive behind this heinous act is suspected to be an accusation of infidelity. Annah Awujo had recently divorced her first husband just months before marrying Arorwa Otube.
“It is alleged that on Wednesday the deceased proceeded to Nyakoi Sub-county in Pallisa District for a burial of her relative. When she returned, they had a bitter exchange. Annah Awujo got married to Arorwa Otube Maaka after divorcing her former husband in Kamuli District.”

The are police have launched a manhunt for the suspect. Additionally, the area CID, Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) and homicide detectives have processed, examined and documented the scene of crime.
Annah Awujo’s body was taken to Pallisa Hospital mortuary and is pending post mortem examination.
