According to a report by The Standard, the committee, led by Kericho County Secretary Wesley Bor, approved spending the money on medical expenses, printing, meals, refreshments, transportation, security, and tents, according to the minutes of the Londiani Disaster meeting conducted on July 18 in the governor’s boardroom. There were 11 people on the committee, with the bulk coming from the Kericho County Government.

The committee denied the allegations of misappropriation of funds. According to a statement delivered to the media on Monday by the county secretary, Wesley Bor, the committee in charge of the Londiani accident spent a total of Sh 9.3 million out of a total of Sh 14,589,604 to support the relatives of the accident victims.

The committee was still verifying and sorting the remaining accident victims and injured people, some of whom were still in hospitals, according to Bor, who claimed that the final checks would be given to the families. This was due to the names given out not matching the actual identity cards of the crash victims.
