Roberto Mancini: Saudi Arabia Appoint Italian as National Team Coach

Roberto Mancini, a renowned Italian football manager has been appointed as the head coach of Saudi Arabia’s national football team just two weeks after resigning as Italy’s head coach.

 ”I am immensely honoured to be offered the position as Saudi Arabia national team manager. I believe this is a great opportunity for me, to experience football in a new country, especially with the growing popularity of football in Asia, said Mancini.

I firmly believe that the passionate footballing culture of Saudi Arabia and the intrinsic quality of Saudi players are crucial ingredients for success. The presence of top players in the Saudi Pro League indicates the potential for growth in the national football scene., he added.

 At Inter Milan led his team to win three straight Serie A titles from from 2005 to 2008 as well as steering Manchester City to the Premier League crown in 2012.

Saudi Arabia’s men’s national team sprung one of the surprises of the 2022 World Cup, defeating eventual champions Argentina in the group stage.

Mancini is the latest big name to become part of Saudi’s soccer revolution. The appointment of Mancini aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious vision for football development in the country.
