The 25-year-old Spanish shot-stopper has been a standout performer for Brighton since breaking into the first team in the 2020-2021 season.
Sanchez leaves Brighton with 87 Premier League appearances to his name.
It is that experience in England which has helped endear him to Chelsea’s recruitment team, who wanted an experience name to compete with Arrizabalaga.

His first words since signing for the Blues were,”Choosing Chelsea was the best choice that I could have picked because of the opportunities that they have presented in front of me is amazing to develop more as a goalkeeper.”
Sanchez will now prepare for the start of the Premier League campaign.
