Kenya secured a remarkable second place finish in the highly competitive Esports (electronic sports)Tournament.
The new Esports competition was unveiled at the Gamers 8 Festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Afro -Arab league saw 25 member nations from the two regions(Africa and Middle East) compete in various games.
Shirley Ndirangu alias Tinto qualified to represent Kenya in Saudi Arabia where she came in second.
On their Facebook page, ESports Kenya federation congratulated Tinto by saying”We recorded the best ever kenya performance at an international event. Our female e-football player Tinto finished second. We are proud of you @ Tinto as a federation and as a country.”

Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation,said: “The Afro-Arab Esports League is a testament to the growing importance of esports in both the African and Arab worlds and a key way to create space for cultural exchange and cooperation among the 25 participating countries.”
As Esports continues to gain momentum worldwide, Kenya’s triumph stands as a reminder that the world of gaming is evolving rapidly, providing new opportunities for talent to shine.
