Kenyan singer Bensoul has been the subject of criticism from Kenyans after he made remarks about the upcoming Solfest on social media.
The singer wrote on his social media account on X: Kama 20k ya kuona Sauti Sol inakushinda by November, you have a long way to go. Wacha wenye pesa waende. The tweet came after Sauti Sol announced that concertgoers would have to part with a whooping Ksh 20, 000 in order to attend their VIP SolFest Show slated for November this year. After the announcement, the costs for the VIP tickets drew criticism from fans on various social media platforms, who encouraged Sauti Sol to rethink the ‘exorbitant’ prices.

Bensoul’s tweet angered many Kenyans on Twitter who have called him out on undermining Sauti Sol fans. The comment section was flooded with tweets from Kenyans who asked him to take down the tweet. The unrelenting Bensoul, however, followed up with another tweet that said; ‘This broke mentality needs to go!!’
Kenyans accused Bensoul of overestimating his importance in the planning and lineup of artists to headline Sol Fest.
