Kuria explained that he was being cautious about arriving late to the meeting. He wanted to avoid Ruto’s wrath as the President was strict on time and punctuality. His driver was said to have delayed picking him up, leading him to the nearest and fastest means of transport available.

Philip Etale, the boda rider, asked the CS where his driver was and why he wasn’t with his official car that early in the morning. According to Kuria, he was ready to leave for the meeting by 6:20 a.m., but his driver delayed.

“My driver is getting late. We are heading to a cabinet meeting and the president is currently very harsh. Stop the stories and let us go,” the CS responded to the rider.

Later, the CS announced that he had arrived for the meeting on time and then shared a video of the police welcoming him at the State Lodge.

Many Kenyans responded to His decision to use the motorbike. Many praised the President for his strict adherence to punctuality.

Previously, Moses was among the CS and Senior government officials who were reprimanded by the President for being late. They were locked out of the meeting called by the President during the signing of contracts at State House Nairobi, on August 1. Alongside him was Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki. They were all asked to write a letter explaining the reason for their delay.

The President also issued a warning to his officers, he mentioned that arriving late to State functions was a direct call advocating for one’s dismissal.

“We have a job because we have a contract, if you cannot keep time with your employer you have basically dismissed yourself, it is just as simple as that,” the President stated.
