Video streaming app, TikTok, has added text features as the social media war between Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, and Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, escalates.
The Chinese-owned video streaming app says it will offer tests-only posts as it adjusts to the competitive space. They say this new feature will give the users “another way to express themselves.”
In a race to remain relevant in the competition, the app launched a new music streaming service earlier this month. The music streaming service was to rival other platforms like Spotify and Apple Music in Brazil and Indonesia.
This new feature comes after Elon Musk announced rebranding the Twitter logo to a white X from its famous bluebird.
In addition to this, WhatsApp announced a new feature that allows one to send a message to an unsaved number and reach out to channels one wants to follow.

TikTok now offers three options to its users to post photos, videos or texts. They will also be able to customise their posts by adding sound, location and duets, which are video reactions to posts by other TikTok users.
“These features make it so your text posts are just as dynamic and interactive as any video or photo post,” TikTok said in a statement on Monday.
Moreover, the platform introduced a new beta version of the service in Singapore, Mexico and Australia. The feature would allow the users to listen, share and download the music they have discovered on TikTok.
They can also share their favourite tracks and artists with their TikTok community.
