The move comes a few moments after Twitter boss Elon Musk hit out at Mark Zuckerberg for duplicating Twitter and launching the Threads App. In a tweet, Elon wrote; “competition is fine, cheating is not”.

Threads App, which was released on July 6 by Meta has already registered more than 30 million users in less than 48 hours. Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg announced that his company would unveil a competing app for Twitter after Elon Musk announced that he would be limiting the number of daily tweets that users on his platform would be able to see and interact with.

Users on Twitter were required to subscribe to Twitter Blue to gain a better experience on the platform, a move that was highly protested. The move by Meta has been welcomed by the audience considering the number of users that the new app has gained in a short time.
