Steven Gerrard has been named manager of the Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq.
The former England and Liverpool defender had hinted in June that he was invited to the country for a potential offer.
The 43-year-old has been out of work since being sacked as Aston Villa manager in October last year.
He left Aston Villa after 13 wins from 40 games.
Gerrard retired from playing in 2016 and his first managerial role was at Rangers, a Scottish club.

Gerrard has signed a two-year contract with Al-Ettifaq.
Al -Ettifaq’s chairman, Khalid Al-Dabai said, “Gerrard’s presence will be an addition and quantum leap in our league.”
Al-Ettifaq finished seventh in the Saudi pro-League last season. This was 35 points behind the champions, Al-Ittihad.
His move to Saudi Arabia follows a heavy investment by Saudi Pro League clubs as top players like Karim Benzema and N’golo Kante have transferred to the Middle East.
