Nandi Woman Murders Man For Defiling 2 Year Old Daughter

Residents of Kolong Village, Nandi County, rained fury on a woman who murdered a man for allegedly defiling her 2 year old daughter. According to police reports, the woman confessed to her atrocities over a phone call.

The unfortunate incident took place on Thursday, in Kolong village, Emgwen constituency, Nandi County. The woman, who was identified as Cheptoo, is said to have confirmed her deed over a phone call she made. The Area Chief who got wind of the news, reported the woman to the police for killing the alleged pedophile.

Upon their arrival to Cheptoo’s residence, Police from Kamombo Patrol Base were met by an infuriated mob. The mob, which had already administered some injustice to Cheptoo, wanted blood. This is according to David Anyir, who is Nandi Central Sub-county Police Commander. Speaking to reporters, Anyir said that Police had to rescue the woman.

They wanted to kill Cheptoo. The officers from Kamombo then called for reinforcements from Kapsabet Police Station. Additional officers from Kapsabet then rushed to the scene to support the Kamombo officers and rescue the woman.

The police were successful in their rescue mission, however, they found a battered Cheptoo. The angry mob also burnt down Cheptoo’s house after she was hauled off from it by the police.

Our patrol vehicle’s windscreen was smashed by residents but we were able to rescue the woman. The mob however barred us from retrieving the deceased’s body.

Anyir added that his team was restricted from retrieving the dead man’s body by the angry mob. Nonetheless, he said that negotiations were underway to have the body released to them in order for a full investigation to be carried out on the matter.

Cheptoo was taken to Kapsabet Referral Hospital to nurse her wounds as she awaits legal action and investigations.
