She is no stranger to controversy as she discusses her life on her show ‘Red Table Talk’, giving the public a chance to pick apart her life and form certain opinions about her. Her marriage was the topic of discussion in 2020 when the 51-year-old actress invited her husband to the show and confessed to having an ‘entanglement’ with 30-year-old August Alsina. When marketing his memoir dubbed ‘Will’ in 2021, Will Smith acknowledged that he and Jada are in an open relationship and that Jada has “never believed in a conventional marriage.” The couple was also in the spotlight when Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars Stage last year for making a joke about Jada’s alopecia.
In the post, Jada Pinkett Smith said that most people think that they know her because of the public nature of her life and marriage. She asserted that the public nature of her lifestyle has drawn assumptions from fans and the memoir is her way of addressing everything in her own words.

The memoir will cover her life, from growing up in Baltimore, Maryland to being the face of controversy in Hollywood, according to Jada. The Girls Trip star announced that she would have a book tour going through her Baltimore hometown on October 18 and invited her fans to join her in her journey of telling her own story. She had teased the release of a memoir last year so the announcement comes as a confirmation to the rumors.
