The driving force behind the win was none other than their new captain and legendary footballer, Lionel Messi.

The Argentina Legend showcased why he is considered one of the greatest players of all time by netting the opener just eight minutes in.

In the 22 minutes, he doubled the lead after showcasing excellent teamwork with Robert Taylor.

A few minutes before the halftime whistle, Miami scored their third goal when Messi provided an assist to Benjamin Cremaschi, who fed the ball to Taylor and enabled him to score with a powerful strike.

In the second half, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner showcased his signature close ball control to create space for Taylor to score his second goal.

This has proved that he simply cannot be stopped on the field.
