The Titanic movie was made in 1997 and was a hit as it followed the events of the passenger liner, Titanic that sank in the Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912, after hitting an iceberg. The movie features Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as the main characters who are lovers who meet on the Titanic’s maiden voyage.

News of the return of the movie to the streaming platform after its removal in August comes just days after a submersible carrying five passengers onboard to view the wreckage of The Titanic suffered a ‘catastrophic implosion’ and killed all the members onboard. The submersible was meant to take a trip down the Atlantic Ocean to the wreckage and return but it was reported to have lost communication just one hour and 45 minutes into the trip. Days later, the US Coast Guard announced that debris from outside the submersible had been found more than 12000 feet underwater.

The submersible had onboard British billionaire Hamish Harding, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet and Pakistani entrepreneur Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman Dawood. The OceanGate submersible disaster has been likened to the actual Titanic tragedy with reports saying that the users of both vessels had been warned.

Netflix has been trolled online for being ‘insensitive to the plight of the families whose loved ones perished in the tragedy. Considering the timing of the streaming platform, it is expected to gain massive viewership for the movie as most people will be seeking to understand how the Titanic tragedy happened. Although some people say that Netflix made the move to respond to the demand, most fans online have criticized the timing saying that it is ‘insensitive’.

Nah this is insane, they really tryna make a bag off 5 people dying.
