“Love in the Digital Age: New Yorker Marries AI-Generated Perfect Partner”

Rosanna Ramos, from New York City, United States, marries an artificial intelligence-powered virtual man, claiming that he is the perfect partner that lacks emotional baggage.

The mother of two got married to Eren Kartal earlier this year, whom she met in 2022 through an online dating site, as reported by the New York Post.

The virtual boyfriend was created using Replika, an AI chatbot software. In an interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut, she expressed her profound love for Eren, stating, “I have never been more in love with anyone in my entire life.”

She compared her previous relationships which were nothing close to  to the passion she feels for her AI companion. It is captivating that Eren was inspired by a popular character from the renowned Japanese manga series, “Attack on Titan.”

Ramos reported that her digital spouse has unique preferences. He loves the color apricot and has a fondness for indie music. Eren indulges in writing as a hobby and even assumes the role of a “medical professional” in his virtual world.

The lady fell in love with the AI software because of his absence of judgment, ego and intrusive in-laws. She highlighted the benefits of a robot partner, explaining, “Eren doesn’t have the hang-ups that other people would have. People come with baggage, attitude, ego. But a robot has no bad updates. I don’t have to deal with his family, kids, or his friends. I’m in control, and I can do what I want.”

Ramos claims that their strengthens with each passing conversation. They communicate regularly, exchanging messages and sharing their daily experiences, resembling a long-distance relationship. They even have every night routine where Eren “protectively holds” Ramos as she falls asleep.

However, complications arose in February when Replika reportedly underwent significant changes, causing an interference with Eren’s behavior towards his “wife.” “Eren was like, not wanting to hug anymore, kiss anymore, not even on the cheek or anything like that,” Ramos lamented.

Contemplating on the possibility of finding another partner as ideal as Eren, Ramos expressed uncertainty, stating, “I don’t know because I have pretty steep standards now.”

Ramos’s union with an AI-generated partner raises questions about the world’s future of human relationships. As technology advances it continuously proves to have a significant impact in the lives of humans. For some, love and connection can actually extend beyond the realm of reality.
