Kyle Walker: Defender wants to stay at Etihad despite Bayern talks

Kyle walker wants to stay at the Etihad and sign an extension of his existing contract. Even though Bayern Munich is interested in signing the England defender but Manchester City have no desire to Let him go.

According to Sky Sports, Bayern are in advance negotiations to in sign the City defender but the 33-year old is not interested in leaving the club.

It was reported on Sunday that Walker was in advanced talks to join Bayern. German manager Thomas Tuchel, formerly of Chelsea, was thought to be a key factor’ in the plan to bring the defender to Bavaria

Pep Guardiola has always favoured Nathan Ake in the defence over Kyle walker for instance in the Champions League final.

In April, Pep said that Walker was unable to play in City’s system. This saw John Stones moved into defence and midfield from time to time.

“He cannot do it,” Guardiola said of Walker. “He will always have pace; Kyle at 60 years old will be the fastest player in this room. To play inside you have to have educated movements – he doesn’t have every one of the characteristics.

There were rumours that he could transfer to Liverpool but that is highly unlikely between the Premier League rivals.
