Jazz Festival by Bob Collymore Foundation

The Bob Collymore Foundation to host its first Jazz Festival in Nairobi this year on July 1 at Carnivore grounds. The event is called the Bob Collymore International Jazz Festival. So to all the Jazz music lovers, BC Foundation brings Jazz to your doorstep.

The Festival has been slated in honour of the former Chief Executive Officer of Safaricom, Bob Collymore. Part of the schedule includes Nairobi Horns Project, Talented Jacob Asiyo, Dynamic Afro-fusion band Shamsi, Versatile Edward Pareseen, and Jack Maguna. Above all, the Safaricom Youth Orchestra and DJ D-Lite will be performing. 

The tickets can be purchased from Mookh.com. An advance ticket goes for Ksh. 2000 and ksh.500 for a student who must show their student ID at the gate. 

” We are excited to bring the Jazz Festival back to Nairobi. We plan to create a calendar for fans of Jazz music going forward,” Wambui, the festival director, expressed her excitement.

The event’s aim is to nurture the growth of the Jazz market and build opportunities for underprivileged audiences.

Jazz Festival Partnerships

Bob Collymore Foundation has partnered with Ghetto Classics and the proceeds that come from the festival, will go into music education. The foundation plans on offering music education to over 300 underprivileged youths in Kenya. The purpose is to transform lives and help people pursue a career in music.

BCF wants to create a platform for sustainable business practices, nurture arts, and inspire businesses for the greater good. They are employing a people-centred approach to create sustainable businesses. 

They want to create influence of Jazz music in Kenya and create an audience for it. To create a lasting impact on the local Jazz scene and help the artists in the field. Most of all, they want to create opportunities for underprivileged youth who have musical aspirations.
