FKF-PL: Gor Mahia still on to lead after Homeboyz shocker, Tusker slip up

FKF Premier League season sees Gor Mahia and Tusker FC go into the final match of the season separated by just one point following a dramatic Wednesday show.

Leaders Gor suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz thanks to a stoppage time dagger from Juma Otieno.

Indeed Gor might have been crowned champions had they won after Tusker slipped up against Posta Rangers.

At the Mbaraki Grounds, Bandari completed this season’s home matches with a 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks.

The lone goal was scored by Harambee stars winger Abdallah Hassan in the 43rd minute of the game.

The home side started the match at the high notch, fourth minute Abdallah Hassan’s snapshot went wide after an exchange of short passes with Joseph Waithira.

A minute later Brian Odera’s header went wide over the bar after connecting with Atariza Amai Conner’s kick.

The home side continued to pile pressure on the Sharks’ danger zone, Harambee stars winger Abdallah Hassan’s dangerous freekick invited Sharks keeper Kevin Ouru to make reflex safe then James Kinyanjui’s follow-up went wide.

Kariobangi Sharks well known for short quick passes almost got the lead when Keith Imbali’s shot was saved by Bandari goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka then a rebound from Osiago Leonlevitt deflected off the sidebar.

A Minute later Sharks again camped in Bandari’s danger zone, and Tyson Otieno’s curved shot was saved by the top bar.

Bandari fc got the lead 2 minutes to the top of the first half through “Starboy” Abdallah Hassan after heading past Sharks keeper Kevin Ouru connecting a powerful cross from Joseph Waithira.

The home side went to halftime ahead one nill. It took Bandari fc only a minute in the second half to make an attempt, James Kinyanjui had a 6-yard shot saved by Kariobangi Sharks goalkeeper Kevin Ouru.

The visitors controlled the better part of the first 15 minutes of the second half, 55th minute Keith Imbali was denied an equalizer by Bandari fc Shot stopper Joseph Ochuka saving for a corner.

Seven minutes to the top of the game, Umar Kasumba denied Bandari fc chance to get their second goal after heading wide an empty net.

A minute later Kariobangi Sharks almost equalized through Julius Masamba 40 yard shot that deflected off the side post.

Sharks wingback Geoffrey Onyango dominated the left side of the pitch, producing beautiful passes which went on begging for a finisher.

A win for Bandari fc extended coach Twahir Muhidin’s unbeaten run to 7 games, winning 5 and drawing 2 games, since he took over from Anthony Kimani.
