This somber find brings an end to the multinational search effort that lasted for five days and covered over 20,000 square kilometers of the ocean.

Initial reports indicate that the US Navy detected “an acoustic anomaly consistent with an implosion” shortly after the Titan lost contact on Sunday. Filmmaker James Cameron, renowned for directing the 1997 film “Titanic” and completing 33 dives to the wreck, expressed his concerns about a potential disaster when news of the missing sub surfaced.
