Reuben has warned Ruto of an impending end to his rule as President if he fails to change his approach. He tells him that his misplaced priorities, taxes and Westernized approach to dealing with issues will bring down the government, and his rule by extension.
“These are four points that will cause your downfall sooner than later. The sooner you turn them around and do the right thing, the better,” the letter read.

Reuben warns Ruto about the proposed housing levy
The housing levy has been a controversial topic in Kenya at the moment, Reuben offers a solution to the president by first pointing out that the housing project is not a priority to Kenyans right now. According to Reuben, Kenyans are grappling with the high cost of living that keeps them from affording food as a basic need, which is currently of more priority than housing with most Kenyans unwilling to contribute to it.
Reuben urges Ruto to listen to the common people more than his advisers. He says the people advising the President are fanatics who are misleading him about what people are saying and what they need. References to Rehoboam from the bible who was a son of Solomon were made. Rehoboam neglected the wisdom of God-appointed men and chose to listen to his peers instead. He quoted the verse that says, “My father chastised you with whips but I will chastise you with scorpions.”
He cautions Ruto the IMF and World Bank are baiting him to lead his country into an economic crisis and their suggestions to increase taxation and move to reckless privatization will lead the country to a terrible economic crisis. Reuben warns Ruto that his haste to implement international policies and programs will jeopardize his position in office currently.
Reuben warns Ruto of his government’s favouritism
As part of his letter, Reuben hints at the favouritism and unforgiveness nature of the Kenya Kwanza government. He calls out the current government on their revenge schemes on the former president, Uhuru Kenyatta, and that his regime ended and they need to focus on theirs and quit playing tit-for-tat. He mentions the speech made by Gachagua on the favouritism model of appointment and faults Ruto for not commenting on or halting that line of thinking
“Your deputy said with a straight face that your government belongs to the shareholder and that only those who voted for it have primacy and priority. You did not come out to correct this notion, implying that you agree with him. ” read the letter.
Reuben warns Ruto that the direction he is taking of misplaced priorities will lead to either the country’s detriment or the end of his presidency. Advises him to listen to his citizens above his fanatics and international organizations.
