Manchester United tops the list of most punished clubs as Liverpool gets charged by FA

Manchester United topped the list of most punished clubs this season after their players lost control against Fulham. Meanwhile, Liverpool was charged by the Football Association with improper conduct against the referee in their last fixture against Man City.

Liverpool players surrounded referee Simon Hooper during last Saturday’s defeat at Manchester City with a number of players protesting that City midfielder Rodri should have had a second yellow.

Spaniard Rodri had just been booked for pulling back Diogo Jota. However, Liverpool has until next Wednesday to respond.

Liverpool took the lead early in the first half against City at Etihad Stadium but was beaten 4-1.

Man Utd fined KSh 10.8 million for players’ behaviour n game vs Fulham

Manchester United has been fined KSh 10.8 million for their players’ behaviour against Fulham meaning that the Red Devils are now the most punished club this season.

It is the fourth time the club have been fined this term following three other offences as United were fined KSH. 22.8m for the previous offences of failing to control their players, in the matches against Newcastle and Chelsea in October and Crystal Palace in January.

This means that the club has been fined a total of KSH. 33.6m this season. However, Arsenal was the previous club to have had the most fines this season with the side paying out KSH. 30.7m

The FA confirmed this and that the club have been handed a KSH. 10.8m fine. The club was charged in March for the way the players surrounded referee Chris Kavanagh as they appealed for a penalty after Fulham’s Willian handled the ball.

Aleksandr Mitrovic and manager Marco Silva were also dismissed for their reactions to the incidents.

At the time there were no punishments handed out to Man United players. However, the club was charged in the following days and despite appealing the Old Trafford side has now accepted the charges.
