Bahati mtoto wa mama has officially defected from the Jubilee party and now he is officially a member of the UDA,” Malala stated.

Bahati was escorted by his wife Diana Marua, among other top Kenyan hitmakers including KRG the Don, DK kwenye beat, Dufla, and Rufftone for the official transition at the UDA headquarters in Nairobi.

He went ahead to explain how he felt like he was finally home, apologizing to President Ruto for not backing him up when he (Ruto) had believed in him when he expressed his desire to get into the world of politics.

His defection from Jubilee has solicited different reactions from Netizens, more so his fans who had not anticipated such a huge shift.

Bahati was previously under the Jubilee party, where he vied for the Mathare constituency ticket during the August 2022 general elections. Jubilee had asked him to step down, to which he refused. He, unfortunately, lost the seat to Anthony Aluoch of the ODM party.

Cleophas also urged other Kenyan artists to follow in the footsteps of Bahati, assuring them of continued support for their craft.

“UDA has its doors open to Kenyan youths from all walks of life, and pledges to walk its talk on matters of youth empowerment in the country. We assure the youths of our unwavering support in the industry to enable them to earn a living from it,” Malala added during UDA’s press address.
