Lionel Messi is not messing around with the Argentina World Cup-winning team and their staff, gifting 35 gold iPhones estimated to be roughly Ksh 26.6 million (£175,000). The generosity is courtesy of their captain who had the phones delivered to his Parisian apartment on Saturday.
Each phone has the player’s name, number and the Argentina logo engraved on it.
This is what Ben, CEO of iDesign Gold, had to say;
“Lionel is not only the Goat but he’s one of IDESIGN GOLD’s most loyal customers and got in touch with us a couple of months after the World Cup final.”

“He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches. So, I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names and he loved the idea.”
Argentina emerged victorious in Qatar last year — with Messi, 35, named Player of the Tournament beating a well-shaped side France and leading Argentina to their first World Cup since 1986 in December and scooped a second Best men’s player title too.
Messi, who scored twice in the final against France pocketed the Golden Ball in Qatar, lift the Ligue 1 title with PSG and has 12 league goals this season helping his team to an eight point lead in defending their title this term.
The PSG star has now won two ‘The Best’ awards and level Robert Lewandowski and his old rival Cristiano Ronaldo who have also been awarded twice.
The former Barcelona man also now has ten individual gongs across the FIFA Best, Ballon d’Or and FIFA player of the year awards, two more than Ronaldo.
