Heavy rainfall caused a deadly mudslide in Eburru Mbaruku hills that swept seven people at Ol Jorai village in Gilgil last night.
Gilgil OCPD, Francis Tumbo, confirmed the incident and said the mudslide ravaged the village and pulled off houses and structures along the way, resulting in the death of 4 children and 3 adults.
“It is a sad moment, response teams have been activated and the injured have been taken to Gilgil Sub-County Hospital as rescue efforts continue to curb the matter,” Tumbo said.

In addition, Tumbo said that they expect to meet as the security team to check out the situation and take interruption measures to assist the families that have been affected by the mudslide.
Nakuru county Red Cross were on the scene and confirmed they had already started their response to help those in need of assistance.
