Donald Trump allegedly paid Stormy Daniels a total of $130,000, (roughly Ksh 17 million) to ensure her silence as far as the affair was concerned. Trump seemed to be setting the record straight, making sure he has a clean slate during the Presidential period in 2016.

His charges are centered around the fact that he and his lawyer made false business records, to cover up the payments for the affair.

According to the jury that voted for him to be charged, the payments were made just before the 2016 US general elections, a nationwide exercise that would have the prominent American Businessman and republican elected as the 45th President of America.

The former Head-of-state has strongly denied the charges, openly lashing out at the prosecutor, accusing him of being used by President Joe Biden to do his ‘dirty work’.

“The Democrats have lied, cheated and stolen in their obsession with trying to ‘Get Trump,’ but now they’ve done the unthinkable – indicting a completely innocent person in an act of blatant Election Interference, Donald Trump said.

How Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels met

Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels are said to have met at a golf tournament in July 2006. Stormy who was 27 years old at the time, seemed to get close to Trump who was 60 years, despite having just gotten married to Melania Trump and siring their son, Barron.

So close they seemed to be that one of Donald trump’s bodyguards allegedly escorted Stormy Daniel to have dinner with him in his penthouse during the golf event.

It was during the said dinner that the affair sprung according to Stormy. She, however, would later make defamatory remarks about the whole experience with former President Trump in her book, Full disclosure published in 2018.

It was in 2016, that Trump got on thin ice with the adult filmmaker, threatening to expose their relationship to the public. Trump took a precautionary measure, opting to pay her $130,000 through his lawyer to buy her silence.

Donald Trump at the time also denied these allegations, claiming it was political persecution and election interference at the highest level.

“This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history, Even before I was sworn in as your President of the United States, the Radical Left Democrats — the enemy of the hard-working men and women of this Country — have been engaged in a Witch-Hunt,” Donald Trump said.

Following Trump’s charges, Stormy Daniels took to her Twitter account to thank her fans for their undying support.

“Thank you everyone for your support and love I have so many messages coming in that I can’t respond…also don’t want to spill champagne#Teamstormy merch/autograph orders are pouring in, too! Thank you for that as well but allow a few extra days for shipment,” Stormy Daniels wrote.

Former President Trump is expected to be arraigned in court in New York on Tuesday, the coming week.
