8. Kenyan Money Heist cut short
On Friday, Caroline Wangui Wanjiku, her aunt Esther Wambui, and her uncle Peter Kariuki Mwaura were charged with jointly conspiring to steal Ksh240,000 from Francis Macharia Ndung’u by allegedly drugging him and transferring money via M-Pesa. Wanjiku was also charged with administering the drug to Mr Ndung’u. After investigations, the three suspects were arrested and denied all charges. The court released them on bond and cash bail and set a hearing date of October 24.
