Real Madrid are on the verge of getting their fifth Club World Cup against a well-drilled and determined Saudi Arabian champion Al-Hilal
The Saudi Arabian team could not have got a better shot at becoming the best in the Club World Cup, albeit facing a rather squad-limited Real Madrid. Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has noted that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard will be out. He also expressed doubt about Karim Benzema’s fitness as Eder Militao has also been struggling, “They haven’t completely recovered, Karim is doing quite well and there are more doubts about Militao. They will train on Friday and then we will see.”
Al-Hilal fans will be feeling that this could be their moment to clinch the title and deny Real Madrid their fifth Club World Cup title. Al-Hilal beat South American champions Flamengo and Carlo Ancelotti was quick to emphasize that they should not be underestimated, “We respect Al-Hilal…They played well against Flamengo, have some very good players and we know that we have to be at our best.”
Al-Hilal beat Flamengo 3-2 in the semi-final of the Club World Cup. The Saudi Arabia champions took the early lead and had an even greater advantage when Flamengo were reduced to 10 men. Bottomline, Al-Hilal won the fixture in composed fashion. They were tactically brilliant.
