Former President Uhuru Kenyatta reclaimed that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is his brother, in a birthday message released on Saturday, January 7.

The former head of state expressed that Raila was also his friend even as he wished him well in the new year, wishing him God’s blessings as the ODM boss turns 78 years old.

“I would like to take this opportunity in the new year, to wish my brother and friend Raila Odinga a happy birthday.”May God’s blessings and favour be upon you today and in the years to come,” read the statement in part.

The former president also shared a picture of a jovial Raila that was taken weeks before the August 9, 2022, polls.

On the other hand, Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua described Raila as one of the most transformative leaders Kenya had over the years.

“Happy birthday Raila Odinga – captain of Azimio and Kenya’s foremost transformational leader. May you enjoy many happy returns,” she stated.

Raila’s close ally and confidant, Suna East Member of Parliament, also took time to celebrate his party boss, who he stated was a man who never gives up despite the challenges he faces.

“We are lucky to have you in our country a man of your fortitude. We are glad you never give up. Wishing you good health. May Allah give you a successful year ahead,” Junet wrote.

President William Ruto’s allies were also not left out in wishing the Azimio leader a wonderful year, as some described him as a leader of his own kind.

Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga asserted that Raila is an enigma, further, celebrating the former premier.
