Chege Njuguna of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has clinched the Kandara Constituency by-election with flying colors.
Njuguna garnered 21,650 votes to emerge the winner over Ford Asili’s party Titus Njau Mbuchu who obtained 14,678 votes in the by-election held on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
The Kandara Constituency seat fell vacant following the appointment of its previous Member of Parliament Alice Wahome, who was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary for Water and Sanitation.

The newly elected Chege Njuguna becomes the second candidate in President William Ruto-led camp to win in the four by-elections held on Thursday including Garissa Township, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Shella Ward in Lamu.

Also, the United Democratic Alliance’s party Dekow Mohamed on the other hand won in the Garissa Township Constituency race.
