The Ford Kenya’s Party Wafula Wakoli has won the Bungoma County Senatorial by-election in Yesterday’s race which attracted 11 Aspirants.
Bungoma’s newest Senator Wakoli garnered 66,023 Votes to Secure the County’s Seat while his closest competitor from UDA Party Mwambu Mabonga, simply generated 45,907 Votes.
On the other hand, the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Wafula Wamunyinyi came the 3rd in a tight Political race with 20,519 Votes.

The Senate Seat became Vacant in September 2022 following the stepdown of Moses Wetangula in order to vie for the National Assembly’s Speaker Position which he managed.
Other Candidates who were in the race include Fredrick Busolo-Vibrant Democracy Party, Elias Barasa of People’s Empowerment Party, Fredrick Busolo-Vibrant Democracy Party, Aaron Wafula-Republican Liberty Party, Geoffrey Barasa-National Ordinary People Empowerment Union, and Robert Sifuna-Roots Party of Kenya.

Also, Radon Munoko, Enock Opara, and Julius Masinde similarly vied for the Senatorial Position as Independent Aspirants.
