China,Russia Launch Joint Naval Drills in Shanghai

China and Russia on Wednesday, December 21 launched joint Naval drills in waters East of the Sea area from Zhoushan to Taizhou, East China’s Zhejiang Province.

The drill is termed the annual Cooperation plan between the Chinese and Russian Military departments.

East China’s Zhejiang Province where the Naval Military takes place extends from the source of the Yangtze River to the Islands East of Ningbo in Shanghai.

It is about 800 Kilometres North-West of Taiwan and about 1,800 Kilometres South of the Russian Vladivostok Port.

Chinese and Russian Naval drill aims to demonstrate the determination and capability of the Two regimes to jointly respond to Maritime Security threats and maintain International and regional peace and stability and further strengthen China-Russia’s Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of coordination for a new military era.

On the other hand, Russia’s trade with China clinched this year with goods from regions cross to Shanghai regularly being Shipped to Vladivostok to join the Trans-Siberian overland route for distribution across Russia.
