The Kakamega County Police force has put behind bars fourteen suspects linked to a famous gang known as ‘Mbogi La Izraim Territory’ that is said to have been threatening people.
Ten of the gang members were arrested on Sunday, and the other 4 on Monday in Kakamega town.
In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations-DCI said that the accidental of detectives accompanied by officers from the Kenya Police Service introduced a crackdown on the gang.
The highly noted procedures came into alarm and reported serial attacks on residents that left at least ten people have been killed and others injured in the incident.
“We have put to notice the horrifying trend, an Intelligence-led crackdown by a team of Kenya Police Service and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers was introduced in town on Sunday, Nov 20, whereby ten suspected members of the ring leaders were captured and taken to Kakamega Police Station,” the DCI said.
At a tactical methodology in the county through investigative measures, 4 more gang members were arrested on Monday in different areas within the town.
Following security operations in Kakamega, detectives managed to recover bloodstained machetes, three get-away motorcycles, and metal bars as well as an assorted electronic gadgets such as phones.
The police said in a statement that the main target security guards around markets are said to have killed two guards aged fifty-eight and fifty-nine years on Thursday last week in Amalemba and Kambi Somali areas.

Further, the gang continued with their targeted mission by killing a 5th –year student at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, on the other hand, and injuring a first-year student in the same Institution.

The DCI noted that the gang known as ‘Mbogi La Izraim Territory’ notified a set up to avenge 3 robbery suspects who were knocked off a while back, since they believed that the guards informed them, hence making them their targets.
