The Reds started the match 10 points behind the fourt-placed, Spurs with fans wondering whether they would secure a spot for the Champions League Competitions before the season comes to an end.

However, yesterday they dominated the game and played a good build up for the team with Darwin Nunez assisting Mo salah who fired it into the bottom corner.

The visitors’ intensity dropped as the half wore on but they doubled their lead in the 40th minute when Salah took advantage of a horrendous error by Eric Dier, who headed the ball straight into the path of the Egyptian forward.

However their England striker, Harry Kane pulled back a stunning goal at the 70th minute with hopes of comeback only to suffer their third defeat in four matches of the league.

Spurs have not beaten Liverpool since 2017 and have now lost seven out of the past nine Premier League matches between the sides.

The result will add to doubts over the ability of Antonio Conte’s men to compete at the top of the table after another damaging defeat against a top-four rival.

Antonio Conte put Iva Perisic on the front with England captain, Harry Kane but they did not have blocks as it was epected before the chemistry of Son and Kane in the front with lethal attacks.

Tottenham found their feet as the half wore on and were only denied an equaliser when Alisson Becker saved at close range from Perisic after a pinpoint Kane cross.
