In 2021, the rapper opened up about a misdiagnosis and illness that caused him to lose 33kgs for the first time. He claimed he was not in pain at the time, but doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
His wife, Nana Owiti, later revealed that Kaka’s illness and subsequent recovery changed her outlook on life.

She recalled the nights of pain and uncertainty as her husband battled a condition, the numerous calls she made to her pastor, and how prayers restored her strength in a social media post.
“I will be honest ever since King got sick and was healed, I had a spiritual awakening. It felt confusing. As a family, we were shaken right as it was happening and we had only one place to run to and that was to God!” she shared.
