Kenyatta University Ex-Vice Chancellor Prof Paul Wainaina to be restored back to office today, after land case that led to his suspension withdrawn from court.
Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor Prof. Paul Wainaina was suspended following Kenyatta university land saga, a scuffle that saw the deferment of the VC by the former president land case The parties involved in the land cases that led to his exit later signed a consent to withdraw the cases from court and he is yet to return to office today.

The VC was suspended on July 12 following a tiff between him and the university council on one hand and State House on the other over the sub-division of the university’s land for use by KUTRRH.
His return will make another reversal made by the new government from the previous government after Miguna’s return to the country.
Paul Wanaina ius expected to be reinstated today back to the institution after the cases being withdrawn.
According to sources within the government and at the university, Prof Wainaina’s return comes after parties involved in a dispute that led to his exit signed a consent to withdraw court cases.
Previously there was a misunderstanding between Prof Wanaina and the University Council in one hand and the other hand also the State House, over the sub division of the university’s land for use by the Kenyatta University Teaching Referral and Research Hospital(KUTRRH) to come up with a World Health Organisation logistics hub- the African Centre for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the Kamae squatters.
This led to his suspension on July 12,2022.
He had earlier been suspended for 30 days “pending investigations” into allegations of “acts of misconduct” but cases filed in court had delayed settlement of the matter.
Later the University Council was dissolved and another one appointed to facilitate the transfer of the Land.

Prof Waceke Wanjohi has been the acting VC since Prof Wainaina was suspended.
The new council is chaired by former University of Nairobi VC Crispus Kiamba.
