Italian Serie A club Juventus have announced the resignation of top officials following investigations on transfers.
In a statement, the Italian Serie A giants, in reference to the ongoing investigations on transfers at the club revealed, “The board of directors’ members, given the centrality and the relevance of the pending legal and technical/accounting matters, considered in the best interest of the company that Juventus provided itself with a new board of directors to address these matters.”
The entire board, apart from the chief executive Maurizio Arrivabene, has left their roles. Maurizio is expected to remain in position for transition purposes once the new board has been established.
President Andrea Agnelli, Vice President Pavel Nedved, and board members Laurence Debroux, Massimo Della Ragione, Katryn Fink, Daniela Marilungo, Francesco Roncaglio, Giorgio Tacchia, and Suzanne Keywood have all resigned following the investigation by prosecutors and the Italian market regulators Consob, for alleged market manipulation and false accounting.

According to SkySports, a statement released on EXOR’s official website on Tuesday morning Juventus announced that Turin-born Gianluca Ferrero will replace Agnelli, “With reference to the decisions taken yesterday by the Board of Directors of Juventus FC and in advance of its Shareholders Meeting called for 18 January 2023, Exor communicates that it will indicate Gianluca Ferrero for the role of Chairman of Juventus.”
Agnelli has been President of Juventus since 2010, overseeing the Turin-based club’s rise to European glory, winning nine Serie A titles in a row until 2019-2020.
Juventus are currently 3rd on the log, 10 points behind league-leaders Napoli. The Serie A is expected to resume on January 4 as Juventus travel to face Cremonese.
