Nairobi; Senator Edwin Sifuna has figured out that the ruling regime over the Withdrawal of High-Profile cases involving politicians allied to President Ruto by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
In a statement, Nairobi county Senator- Edwin Sifuna said that the government should amplify and give prominence to the withdrawal of petty offenders’ cases, given President Ruto’s ideology on empowering ordinary Kenyans’.
The DPP Noordin Haji has in recent days withdrawn cases of the political leaders including Cabinet Secretaries Mithika Linturi and Aisha Jumwa, which a section of Kenya Kwanza leaders has termed as the arrival of freedom to Kenyan citizens., Noordin Haji cited a lack of sufficient evidence to the matter.
According to Nairobi’s Senator, the government should give prominence to the withdrawal of petty offenders’ cases, given President Ruto made a campaign on the ‘bottom-up’ ideology.
“My message to the deputy president is congratulations, your freedom has finally landed a new beginning now focus to serve the people of Kenya. You told us everything you will do will be aligned to the bottom-up ideology,” Edwin Sifuna stated on Thursday.
Senator Sifuna who was speaking during a Day Break program aired by Citizen Television simply urged President William Ruto’s ruling regime to extend the purported freedom to Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke, who was last month jailed for sixty-seven (67) years over Ksh.297 million National Cereals and Produce Board-NCPB maize fraud case.

On the other hand, the anti-corruption court will on Thursday, November 10, 2022, in Nairobi will make a ruling on whether it will withdraw Rigathi Gachagua’s case.
The big question remains, will the public ever know whether there was money lost in the Constituency Development Fund-CDF of Mathira or not? If the prosecutors themselves are coming out to say yes, there was not sufficient evidence then this is a clear abuse of the prosecutorial power, Sifuna added to his statement during an interview at Citizen TV.
