Over 142,000 people follow Tugi’s YouTube account.

“When Tugi was young we had planned to keep him on the down low, away from social media,” Njugush said.

Adding, “Then again it became hard to do so because in the house whenever I would say something, he would say something else on top of that and what he would say was even funnier than what I said.”

He mentioned giving his sons Kikuyu names a few weeks ago. Njugush explains that Tugi denotes a divine gift whereas Toria denotes a conqueror.

“Toria since he is a conqueror and we all want to be winners in everything we do in our lives,” Njugush said.

Njugush stated that he prefers to give his children names for which he is well-versed in the significance.

“When choosing names, we chose in regard and meaning and I prefer doing it in Kikuyu. For me, I will go for the meaning and also, I want to look at my child in future and see the reflection of their names,” he said.

The gifted comedian claimed in the interview that the award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, served as the inspiration for his online handle Blessed.

He claimed Lupita’s words came just as he was considering giving up. He was casting at the ‘Real househelps of Kawangware’ at the time.

His ambition of becoming the next Lupita was slowly becoming a reality on the show, but then a major figure posted on his Twitter account,

“This show is alitumia jina ya hizi vitu hubebwa na exhauster, show,” the comedian said.

As is customary, Kenyans on Twitter continued the topic.

Njugush said, “Then watu Twitter, ni ukweli, ata mimi nimenotice.”

After three weeks Lupita tweeted.

“Three weeks later, Lupita tweets, watching real house help of Kawangware, I wish everybody understood Swahili, God bless Njuguna. That’s where blessed Njugush came from,” he said.
