A section of Gor Mahia FC fans announced their intention to take to the streets and hold peaceful protests against chairman Ambrose Rachier on Thursday, October 13.

In a statement written by Judith Omondi and seen by Switch, the disgruntled fans want to distance the club from Rachier following his recent interview on local media where he revealed that he was indeed a Freemason.

The secret fraternity has been at the centre stage of conspiracy since time immemorial with rumours revolving around the use of magic, sorcery and mysticism.

“As for Gor Mahia FC fans, we will take part in the above event to distance ourselves and our beloved club from the Chairman’s position of self-confessed freemason membership,

Despite Rachier’s determination to persuade the public of the secret society’s innocence, K’ogalo fans remain unconvinced of its reputation.

“We shall congregate at Uhuru Park at 11 am, Thursday, October 13. thereafter, we will take a procession along Valley Road then branch at Ralph Bunch road,” the statement read.

Ironically the story of Kogalo in itself boasts its own air of mysticism in Gor Mahia being the son to Ogada and grandson to Ogallo, a prominent Luo hero born in the late 18th century, who used magic and miraculous powers that he inherited.

Rachier, left many Kenyans intrigued after revealing he was a Freemason, a covert fraternal organisation that has existed for centuries.

He said that many well-known individuals are Freemasons, but they keep their membership top-secret and are forbidden from disclosing it to others at higher levels or to the general public.

“I do not care to say I am one of them, and I do not regret it; my family know that today Ambrose Rachier is going to the meeting,” he revealed.

The longtime football administrator acknowledged being a part of the hidden organisation, emphasizing that it involved charitable endeavours rather than devil worship.

The club’s Executive Committee (EC) responded by stating that Rachier’s remarks were his personal viewpoint.

“The EC members, players, employees, and the Mighty Gor Mahia want to assure our fans we are not part of Freemason society and that our Chairman’s affiliation to that society is a personal journey as attested in the media,” said club Secretary General Sam Ochola.
