Pop sensation Rihanna and American designer Adam Selman have done what they are well known for; being audacious. On November 9 prepare yourself for ‘Sexy. Functional. Fashion.’ Well, that’s according to Rihanna, who says ‘Everything is a sport’. Speaking to Vogue, Rihanna said, “I was inspired by everyday life. Everything is a sport. Being pregnant is a sport. For me, it was about fit and fabric, and I let Adam play with everything else. The pieces are sexy and snatch you, but it’s functional and that’s what describes the whole Sport collection. Sexy. Functional. Fashion.”

Adam Selman has had immense experience working with Rihanna and is recognized for that iconic naked dress at the 2014 CFDA Awards. His Savage x Fenty collaboration with Rihanna was first launched in 2020 on Valentine’s Day and was an immediate success. There was definitely no doubt about who to pick as executive design director of Savage X Fenty Sport. Selman was the clear favorite.

Speaking to Vogue, Adam Selman has said, “It’s the perfect marriage of lingerie-inspired activewear that isn’t like anything else on the market.”
Selman added, “We wanted to create something unique and bold that can speak to the existing customers, but also open up a whole new realm of possibilities for us. From sheer cut-outs and panels that create sexy silhouettes with clever straps reminiscent of lingerie, to figure-hugging wardrobe staples that come in an assortment of punchy shades and a leopard print that features a candy-colored sunset background, it’s so good.”
