List of Heads of States attending Ruto’s Inauguration

Nearly 20 heads of state were expected for President-elect William Ruto’s swearing-in ceremony at Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday, September 13.

A day earlier, many presidents had arrived in Kenya and had been brought to luxurious hotels where they had reservations.

The heads of state and 2500 other VIPs were expected to be seated by 9 am, an hour before William Ruto arrives, according to the Assumption of Office Committee.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is retiring, will be present for William Ruto’s inauguration.

When Kenyatta and Ruto met on September 12 at State House, Kenyatta reaffirmed his commitment to upholding his constitutionally mandated duty to transfer power.

“As a hallmark of our democracy, I will tomorrow, before God and my fellow countrymen, hand over the instruments of power to our new President at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. With that, the Fourth Administration will come to an end and the tenure of the Fifth Administration will begin,” Uhuru said.

The36-years served president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni made his way to Kasarani Stadium for the swearing-in event of the presdent-elect William Ruto.

Museveni left Uganda on Tuesday morning, September 13.

Tanzania President, Samia Suluhu was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Lazarus Chakwera- Republic of Malawi

For the swearing-in of President-Elect H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, H.E. Lazarus Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi, travelled to Kenya in the early morning hours. Upon his arrival at JKIA, Amb. Yabesh Monari welcomed him.

The Comoros President, H.E. Azali Assoumani, arrived in Kenya this morning to attend H.E. Fifth President of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. William Ruto. When he arrived at JKIA, Amb. Peris Kariuki welcomed him.

Évariste Ndayishimiye-President of the Republic of Burundi

The President of the Republic of Burundi, H.E. Évariste Ndayishimiye, came in Kenya early in the day to attend the inauguration of H.E. William Samoei Ruto, Kenya’s fifth president. He was welcomed by Amb as he arrived at JKIA. Wambura, Daniel.

President-elect William Ruto’s inauguration was attended by H.E. Brahim Ghali of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, who arrived in the nation on Tuesday morning. At JKIA, Amb Andambi, Arthur welcomed him.

On Monday, September 12, Felix Tshisekedi had a meeting with President-elect William Ruto in his office in Karen. Recently, Kenya has improved relations with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the newest member of the East African Community (EAC).

The two nations inked bilateral agreements in April of this year that supports higher agricultural production, promote collaborative investment ventures between the two countries private entrepreneurs, and expand commerce that benefits both parties.

Mozambique’s president held a brief with Ruto, agreeing to expand and diversify exports to the South African nation.

Ruto met with Filipe Nyusi in his Karen home residence before joining other digniteries at Kasarani Stadium for the inauguration ceremony,

Paul Kagame-Rwanda

Following discussions with the president of Rwanda at his Karen Office in Nairobi, William Ruto reaffirmed that Kenya and Rwanda have a long-standing relationship based on shared interests and long-standing collaborations on economic and security problems.

He said that Kenya will work to strengthen and broaden its collaboration for the benefit of both nations.

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo- Vice President- Federal Republic of Nigeria

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in the Country to witness the inauguration of Kenya’s 5th President, H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto. He was received at JKIA by Hon. Adan Duale MP Garissa Township.

Emerson Mnangagwa- Zimbabwe

H.E Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe arrived in the Country today ahead of tomorrow’s inauguration process of the 5th President of Kenya, H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto. President Mnangagwa was received at JKIA by Amb. Stella Munyi.
