American model and television personality Chrissy Teigen who is the wife of sensational singer John Legend has opened up about having performed an abortion in 2020, which she claims saved her life.
Teigen and her husband announced on social media in October 2020 that she had miscarried during her third pregnancy.
The mother of two, however, revealed three days ago at a summit hosted by the social impact agency Propper Daley that she recently realized she had undergone a life-saving abortion.
“Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention,” she expressed.

The 36-year-old revealed in a moving Medium post in 2020 that she had been bedridden for over a month before being diagnosed with “partial placenta abruption” and losing her pregnancy at 20 weeks.
Teigen recalled not even realizing it was an abortion until the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June.
She said Legend reminded her that they had gone through the same process when they discussed the emotional decisions that led to an abortion with her husband.
“I told the world we had a miscarriage, the world agreed we had a miscarriage, all the headlines said it was a miscarriage,
“And I became really frustrated that I didn’t, in the first place, say what it was, and I felt silly that it had taken me over a year to actually understand that we had had an abortion,” she continued.
Teigen and Legend have two children: Luna, 6, and Miles, 4.
Teigen, who is currently expectant, announced on Instagram in August that she and her husband are expecting their third child.
