Nairobi Governor-elect Sakaja meets Polycarp Igathe for coffee in a restaurant, sharing Wonderful Conversations and light moments on ‘Siasa-Safi’ Slogan.
The new elect-governor of Nairobi took to social media on Thursday, sharing photos of himself and his one-time political rival Polycarp Igathe, holding a conversation and sharing bearable moments over Coffee.
“Wonderful conversation and laughs with my brother @polyigathe this afternoon. Amesema ni siasa safi,” Sakaja wrote on Twitter.
The duo who shared coffee at a restaurant in Nairobi, appeared comfortable in each others presence.
Sakaja who vied on a UDA ticket emerged the winner in the hotly-contested race to secure Nairobi county’s top post after garnering 699,392 votes ahead of Jubilee Party’s Igathe who collected 573,516 votes.
Polycarp, therefore, conceded defeat and congratulated Sakaja for his victory, further thanking his supporters for backing his bid.
“I accept the decision of the people of Nairobi and thank all our supporters. The Governor of Nairobi is His Excellency Johnson Sakaja. Congratulations! God bless Kenya,” he wrote on Twitter on August 14, 2022.

Sakaja on the same day applauded Igathe for the move, inviting him to coffee for putting up a good fight in the contest.
“I accept the decision of the people of Nairobi and thank all our supporters. The Governor of Nairobi is His Excellency Johnson Sakaja. Congratulations! God bless Kenya,” he wrote.
Sakaja has been bestowed an obligation to lead a diverse margin of voters from both Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio la Umoja that make up Nairobi.
Johnson Sakaja amazed the city settlers with his performance and demonstration of understanding how and what Nairobi needs in the debate with his colleague Igathe, in the Gubernatorial debate held in July 11.
