Jalang’o: Felix Odiwuor Tops Lang’ata Race

Felix Kodhe Odiwuor alias popularly known as Jalang’o has allegedly bagged the member of the parliamentary seat of Westlands in the August polls.

The incumbent Lang’ata MP on a United Democratic Alliance ticket Nixon Korir was Jalang’o’s main opponent and would be difficult to floor having formed bonds with his constituents over the years.

Despite the numerous trolls on social media hinting at Jalang’o losing the seat of Lang’ata parliamentary seat, it’s a great surprise as he emerges to top his close rival in the parliament.

“From the results that we’ve tallied…my competitor Jalang’o has a lead and I want to congratulate him as he prepares to take the mantle and move Langata forward. Siasa si chuki. God bless Langata,” Korir said accepting defeat.

Korir, who was contesting on a UDA ticket, told his constituents that he was grateful to the people of Lang’ata, who allowed him to serve them for five years.

Jalang’o further commended the IEBC for delivery of a credible and well balanced election and said he supported the postponement of some zones’ elections.

“I think the postponement is based on goodwill because there is no way an election can continue if there is an error in the ballot paper and I think IEBC has acted properly so that now they can handle that situation at the right time when that correction has been done,” he added.

He pointed out that the clarification of the errors will assist allow for the elections to be free, fair and credible.

Jalang’o having heard of the news chose to drop by the tallying centre of Lang’ata Constituency perhaps for confirmation and to see the ongoing process.

Where to a surprise he was received by voters and some of the supporters in cheering mode as they greeted and embraced him on his way in.
