DP Ruto Charges At KPLC Over Likely Power Outage

DP Ruto asks KPLC to ensure no power outages

DP Ruto has incessantly not only assured his Hustler-themed supporters of a better tomorrow but has also hit the road to ensure that his votes will be safeguarded and not even the Kenya Power and Lightning Company (KPLC) will disrupt communications.

DP William Ruto in a press briefing at his Karen residence raised allegations of a plan to cause mass blackouts in some parts of the country to demean timely communication.

He raised the issue after there were power outages massively witnessed around the country on the night of the Presidential Debate as he aired his agenda and manifesto to the people.

The blackout during the presidential debate was noted to be an hour-long outage that hit parts of Western, Nyanza, Rift Valley, and Nairobi North which Kenya Power explained as having been caused by system disturbance.

Even though normalcy was restored about an hour later after the engineers’ prompt response in dealing with the issue, DP William Ruto tends to foresee a hitch-up plan that he has cautioned against.

“A system disturbance at the Kisumu Muhoroni high voltage transmission power line that tripped several power circuits and affected power generation from Muhoroni Gas Turbine Station and Tuckwell Hydropower Station,” the KPLC statement read in part.

“Our system engineers immediately commenced restoration works and normalized power to all areas by 9:07 pm. The Company regrets any inconvenience caused.”

KPLC through the Energy CS Monica Juma said that the part of the National plan is on delivered in an election which does entail provision of power. Further assuring the citizens that all is catered for and taken solemnly hence no need for concern.

Monica Juma added that in any case there might be emergencies or faults then the Kenya Power and Lightning Company would advise Kenyans on time and effectively.
