The planned Marvel sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will not feature actor Daniel Kaluuya due to a scheduling difficulty, according to the actor.
The late Chadwick Boseman’s character T’Challa’s best buddy W’Kabi was played by Kaluuya, 33, in the 2018 sequel. But instead of playing the same part in the Black Panther sequel, he opted to take part in Jordan Peele’s sci fi “Nope.”
The actor explained his decision to Variety magazine, saying “Best for the story and what’s best for the film.”
When questioned if he had seen the sequel’s trailer, he responded,
“Of course, I’ve seen it! It’s amazing.”
However, despite the actor’s declaration that he would not appear in the sequel, he left the door open for speculation that his warrior role would make a comeback in future movies when he jokingly remarked,
“You know I can’t tell you!”
Earlier this month, a teaser for the eagerly awaited Black Panther sequel was unveiled at Comic-Con in San Diego.
Numerous actors from the first film, including Lupita Amondi Nyong’o and Danai Gurira, are seen tackling new threats to Wakanda in the latest preview, along with Letitia Wright’s Shuri and Angela Bassett’s Ramonda.
Following scenes of Okoye, portrayed by Danai Gurira, conversing with various Wakandan warriors as the fictitious country mourn the death of T’Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman unfortunately died in August 2020 from colon cancer.
Later it was confirmed that there will be a sequel and that the late actor’s part would not be recast.
