The August elections saw the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman announce the Kenya Kwanza Leader William Ruto as president-elect having topped the race for the presidential elections in Kenya.

However, Raila and his lawyers have cited numerous faults in the conduction of the whole process hence assuring their supporters that justice will be declared citing having evidence as strong enough to point out the questionable arising matters.

Based on reports from various Azimio heads, the legal battle is against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the chairman Wafula chebukati.

According to the Azimio team, answers are needed to certain matters like; claims of inflated figures, manipulation of the Kiems Kits, illegal voter transfers, and a probable abnormal turnout of voters in Kenya Kwanza strongholds.

Upon the filing of the petition, Azimio is to serve respondents in a day’s time, as the respondents are to file their responses in four days’ time.

A seven-judge bench will decide on Azimio’s election petition. It will listen to Azimio, Ruto, and the electoral commission and decide the way forward to deciding who is Kenya’s legitimate president

Hearing of the case will be ongoing with a determination of the final verdict to come by the 4th of September 2022.

The court’s hearing will determine whether the elections are null hence calling for a re-run and if declared done appropriately then the procedures of swearing in will be set up.
